and gives its support to Pharmaciens Sans Frontières Comité International (PSF – CI) (International Committee of Chemists Without Borders)
Pharmaciens Sans Frontières Comité International is a French legal Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) and its principal objective is « to strive for access to quality pharmaceutical care everywhere, for everyone, with no racial, ethnic, sexual political or religious discrimination » (Article 3 of the Chemists Without Frontiers charter) (currently 2 billion people do not have access to care, and 17 million of these die every year).
Thus, PSF-CI improves access to generic essential medicines of quality and implements large scale, reliable secured distribution programmes (creation of pharmaceutical depots, health centres, national staff training…) so that the medication arrives at its final destination: vulnerable populations.
PSF-CI has been active in 43 countries since 1985, and 20 million people benefitted from its action in 2006.
Initially located in Clermont-Ferrand, PSF-CI will soon be setting up in Bordeaux. To allow this installation to be carried out in the best possible conditions, PSF-CI has called upon the generosity of local businesses.
By choosing to collaborate with this association, we are embarking on a responsible, united enterprise, participating in Bordeaux’s rapid development and the reinforcement of its image, in keeping with major action in favour of sustainable development.
But more particularly, we are contributing towards ensuring and reinforcing the independent action of this European association which specialises in emergency and development humanitarian pharmacy, helping them help the most defenceless populations.
