For over 20 years, LAFFORT has been investing in research to:
- Identify and select the best tannin sources that complement the phenolic structure of wine.
- Improve production and purification methods for raw materials.
- Construct a greater understanding of the oenological implications of tannin usage.
- Develop the methods of tannin application in accordance with the implemented oenological practices
Selection and extraction experience
Our experience of raw material selection and our sophisticated analytical tools are the initial guarantees of the consistent quality of LAFFORT tannins. At the same time, we have developed industrial know-how in the domain of extraction, which gives us more control over the oenological quality of our products.
Dedicated production facilities
Formulation and purification are key phases for processing raw materials for oenology. These phases come under the expertise of our Tannin Research team, in our dedicated production facilities.
Innovation
VR SUPRA® was the first tannin to be rendered completely soluble in water or wine, thanks to an exclusive IDP process (Instant Dissolving Process) implemented in the LAFFORT production facility. All LAFFORT tannins today benefit from this technology.
The industry standard
VR SUPRA® and QUERTANIN® have been chosen by winemakers all over the world for many years and remain today the leading tannins on the international market.
